Catamaran Art & Literature Magazine Profile

December 2022 issue: Solo Exhibition “Elizabeth Wilson: Spirit of Place”, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, Alttona (September 3 – December 4, 2022).

Fine Art Connoisseur:

”On view at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art are 30 luminous, often poetic landscapes by the Philadelphia-based painter Elizabeth Wilson. She has titled her exhibition ‘Spirit of Place’ because it traces her life over the past two decades through travel, via both direct experience and memory. Significant during the pandemic lockdown were her cherished recollections of Long Island’s North Fork and the Roman Campagna”.

Thanks to Barbara Sosson, president of the PAFA Fellowship for inviting me to curate this show. I was tasked with choosing five artists I overlapped with while attending the Academy. It was a tough decision narrowing down the choices….so many deserving artists.
